CREATIVE STYLE DIRECTOR
OF DEMERAL’S THE NEW
MASTER COLLECTION F/W 2017-18,
SPEAKS ABOUT HIS STYLE
AND HIS INSPIRATIONS
Who is Giorgio Pillan?
A creative artisan, a stylist who listens and, when he looks “professionally” at a woman, thinks first about what not to do to make her happy, therefore eliminating everything about her face or hair that could be considered negative.
What made you become a hair stylist (a few years ago…)?
My curiosity, which is still strong and professionally, “never ages”. Hair styling is a trade where “art becomes emotion and emotion becomes art”. Parents are quick to recognize a creative child and I had parents who never tried to change my eccentric self. Much of what I am, I owe to them.
What is the absolute must have for fall/winter 2017-18?
The must have is non-conformist, rebellious, being able to retrieve looks that go from the 60’s to the 80’s, versatility.
Which woman is inspired by Demeral’s new fall/winter collection?
A return to feminity, decidedly from the past but with a modern twist.
What is the distinguishing feature of the cuts and styles that you created?
A mix of energy featuring deconstructed geometry, “undercut fusion” where you see no beginning and no end. I would say that the current trend emphasises the distortion of shapes.
Giorgio, what excited you the most about your role as creative style director of this new collection?
To work and endorse the fashion collection for an enterprise that is in a continuous evolution such as Demeral; this is already exciting but.
